Color

Colors can make or break your user interface

Why color matters

When you think of your favorite brand, what comes to mind? At first it may be their logo, but another very important charateristic of brand identity is color. McDonalds would not be the same without their signature golden arches, and Starbucks would be nearly unrecognizable if they stopped using their iconic green. To keep a consistent brand identity across your user interface it is important that you use a consistent color palette. Clashing colors can lead to an unpleasent experience, so try to build your palette out of colors that compliment eachother. Take a look at an example of a good and bad color palette below.

Try to keep your colors consistent, and use ones that go well with each other. For more information on picking good colors for your user interface, check out this website: UI Color Palette 2024: Best Practices.
